New Ownership and More to Come
I am so happy to be the proud new owner, as of April 9, 2021, and to be keeping this business in the family. The property sits right next door to where my grandparents' had lived and where my mother grew up. For many years, I longed to live overlooking the water and this location is incredible! While Legge's Sunset Inn will remain, it will grow as Sunset Inn with Seaside Serenity Retreat (Stay tuned!). We look forward to seeing you and would love to help you make your next getaway a relaxing and memorable one.

History
The Inn first opened in 2004 with Suite #1. It was owned and operated by Melinda and Roy Legge, my aunt and uncle. To meet the demand for places to stay in the area, the business grew. Suite #2 was added the following year and then Suite #3, the 2 bedroom, was opened in 2006.
Highlights from the Deck and Property
The 2 bedroom fully equipped and self contained suites overlook the active fishing harbour, with fisher folk and boats coming and going throughout the day. Besides the boats and seabirds, you may even be able to watch a whale from your deck. It is peaceful, serene, and exudes outport Newfoundland. The sunsets are spectacular. The cozy and clean accommodations are in the perfect spot, in the heart of so many beautiful trails, nearby a golf course, historical sites and many other amenities. From two of the decks and the grounds you also have a view of the famous "Shag Rock", a three horned rock jutting out of the water.
Location and Amenities
Legge's Sunset Inn is located just 75 minutes from St. John's and is positioned perfectly to explore the Baccalieu Trail during your Fall Getaway. When coming from St. John's, you can take exit 28 to Route 80. We are located in the scenic Town of Whiteway, overlooking Trinity Bay, just 15 km to Dildo and less than 25 km to Heart's Content. You can take so many day trips to explore so many breathtaking sites. Pitcher's Pond Golf Course and Brown's Restaurant are less than a km away. Jimmy Rowe's Walking Trail and pond swimming area, as well as playground, ball field, and convenience store are located in Whiteway.
